2014 Petite Sirah
Peterson Family Vineyard | Calistoga
You might have to tap on the bottom of the bottle a few times to get this wine out! Incredibly dark and impenetrable with wild berry and boysenberry fruit. The wine coats your palate from beginning to end. Chewy tannins are well integrated and nicely balanced by ripe, jammy fruit and lifted by ample natural juicy acidity. – Bob Foley, Winemaker
The nose is a dense black raspberry, marzipan, lemon bar and brown spice. The palate entry offers a black tea and hard berry firmness with violets, enormous espresso and tobacco held together with superiorly structured tannins. Drink 2019-2034. – Purely Domestic Wine Report | Volume 7.1, December 2018 – 96 points
Brooding and dark, this wine balances power and finesse. Currant and crushed stone aromas open to dense blackberry, bitter chocolate and spiced herb flavors that build tannins toward the finish. Best after 2018. – Tim Fish, WineSpectator, Web Only – 2018 – 92 points
Monty and Sara Preiser, Preiser Column, February 26, 2018 – 96.5 points
