2014 Merlot

Peterson Family Vineyard | Calistoga

Incredibly bold and lush, this Merlot floods your palate with ripe black fruit, exotic spice, bittersweet cocoa and a hint of vanilla bean. The wine is intense and expressive and has a round and weighty mid-palate supported by velvety tannin structure and lively acidity that leads to a long lasting finish. –  Bob Foley, Winemaker

The nose is a dense black plum and cherry with notes of mint, licorice, cinnamon and blackberry liqueur. The palate is a full and velvet-like hard cherry and plum with fine tannins and faint conifer on the finish. Drink 2018-2028. –  Purely Domestic Wine Report | Volume 7.1, December 2018 – 94 points

Dense and a touch brooding, with plenty of sanguinity to the powerful dark plum, black currant and dried blackberry flavors. Hints of mint and cream show on the suave finish. Drink now through 2022. – Kim Marcus, WineSpectator, November 30, 2017 – 91 points
